Society for Participatory Integrated Development (SPID) is a national level Non -Governmental Organization (NGO) formed by like-minded people engaged in the social development sector for more than a decade. The organization came into existence when a group of people gathered in 2003 and decided to work collectively to uplift the needy and weaker sections of the society. After several meetings and discussions over social problems, issues and other activities,the Group decided to work with an integrated/holistic approach for a better development of society.
The organization got registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 on February 20th, 2004 from Govt of NCT of Delhi. The organization has been established to strengthen and empower the underprivileged by making them aware ofinjustice, discrimination, rights, laws, and schemes etc. so that they can fight for equity, freedom, solidarity and rights.
SPID has successfully endeavored to promote Health,Education, Child Rights& Child care, Women's empowerment,Human Rights,Environment, Aged Care and other developmental activities for rural and urban communities. To achieve our goal, the organization provides opportunities for development, particularly to women in leadership, through decision making and self-reliance. Most of the responsibilities related to various programs, from identification of needs / problems, analysis, prioritization, planning, implementation and evaluations are also met by SPID. In the continuation of our activities, SPID is also running a GRC-SSK (Gender Resource Center- Samajik Suvidha Kendra) for girls and women in Mangolpuri, Training on Zari work in Savda Ghewra of Delhi and in 10 slums of Agra in Uttar Pradesh.
