Why Our Work Matters

Cycles of exploitation don’t break themselves

In Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, children of women in prostitution, survivors of trafficking, and those from disadvantaged communities face stacked odds—no safe shelter, disrupted education, poor health access, and no real chance at independence. Women are often denied their rights, excluded from decision-making, and trapped in unsafe, unstable livelihoods. Existing government schemes rarely reach them effectively, leaving communities without the networks or skills to break free. Without protection, dignity, and opportunities, the next generation inherits the same struggles. SPID exists to end this cycle—through safety, education, empowerment, and paths to self-reliance.

The Society for Participatory Integrated Development (SPID) is a grassroots non-profit, founded in 2004, working across Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh to break cycles of exploitation, poverty, and exclusion.

Guided by a community-led approach, we build lasting change—ensuring dignity, safety, and opportunity for all.

Stories of Change

Firsthand stories of resilience and growth from individuals whose lives SPID has transformed forever.

spidsociety

Coming from a modest family in Saharanpur, I joined SPID’s Retail and Sales Management course to support my family. With training, guidance, and placement support, I secured a Front Desk Executive role at Bombay Glass House, earning ₹9,500 monthly. SPID’s support transformed my career and inspired my younger brother’s ambitions.
